about

The idea counts

At the beginning of almost every musical innovation of the last 100 years, there were releases that were produced quickly, almost as if in a frenzy. To this day, that's what makes many blues records, the assembly-line jazz LPs of the 50s, the first beat or punk milestones so appealing.

Supra by Dahlke/Väterlein is an attempt to rediscover this spirit. This is more about freshness than perfection. The spirit of a first thought, of a day, of a year are to be captured. The listener participates in a process that is still purely characterized by passion and artistic enthusiasm. The moment before musical play turns into work is captured on these tracks. It's the idea that counts.

From the living room to the clubs

Supra is electronic music. This album wants to entertain. It belongs in the clubs and invites remixes. But Dahlke/Väterlein do not stop at stereotypes. It's about nothing less than a possible approach to the future of digital forms of expression in times of a global club scene with infinitely diverse influences.
